This is a follow-up question to my last question about whether or not Trump deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. Obama received his Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 after only 8 months in the White House. Did he deserve it?

Lean no. His win was a significant milestone for US race relations, but race relations still kinda suck. And on the international scale, which is probably more important for a peace prize, Obama's foreign policy failed to make any real strides toward world peace, with the exception of the Iran deal and the resumption of dialogue with Cuba, which came later.

I would go as far as to argue that race relations incredibly worsened under Obama. Also, his foreign policy, if anything, further destabilized the international community. His Iran deal was an utter failure, Russia became emboldened and annexed Crimea and started a proxy-war in Easter Ukraine, China also became emboldened and is now taking over the South China Sea, pulling out of Iraq far too early which created a power vacuum that was filled by ISIS, drawing a red-line in the sand with Bashar Al Assad and then not following through really hurt as well. The only foreign issue that I think was acceptable was his relations with Cuba. I was totally cool with thawing our relationship with Cuba, and for that, I'll give him some props. Everything else was a complete disaster.

Nah, maybe later in his term, but not then What, in his later term(s), would have merited a Nobel Peace Prize?
