Hello everyone. For those of you who may not know me, I am wvamerican. I am one of the original members of the Virtual Congress. On the SOH version, I served in several different capacities including Secretary of Labor, Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Treasury, Associate Justice, Speaker of the Virtual Congress, and as President during the height of the SOH Congress when we still had 100-250 active votes.
I was honored to have him supporting me then and I'm honored still to announce that Skinner will be my running mate for this race. Together we hope to return the Virtual Congress to the classically liberal roots that the founding fathers ushered in with the ratification of the Constitution. We will strive to govern each decision by the text and the Amendments that follow.
However, our primary focus will always be to grow the Congress and be creative in its development. I look forward to discussing the important issues tonight. Thank you.

Hello to everyone who is viewing this post. My name is MrAmerica and I am running for the position of President of VC. I am socially & and fiscally conservative but I am more willing to compromise on fiscal policies then I am on social issues. During my time on the SoH VirtualCongress I was at different points in time; Secretary of State, Vice President, Chief Justice, and Communications Director. I hope that can use my past experiences to help VC in the future. I also would like to thank VC for hosting this debate. Let's progress VirtualCongress into the future!
God bless.

Question 1: VC has gone from nearly 100 active members at it's peak, to 50 recently, now down to 25 on this new website. How will you attract more members to a new vc? I believe that being active and consistently proposing legislation will be key in keeping the VirtualCongress user base active, this will attract new users to the website and will ensure old congressmen stay. I will also work with the Speaker and my cabinet in finding out ways to recruit new members.

Question 1: VC has gone from nearly 100 active members at it's peak, to 50 recently, now down to 25 on this new website. How will you attract more members to a new vc? I have had the opportunity to be active during the "Golden Age" of the VC and recently during the scandalous period. I was around when our votes reached nearly 200 a day. I believe there are two fundamental things we need to due if we are going to succeed. I managed a nonprofit organization during this past year and we had similar problems. Our retention rates fell by 60% and our recruitment levels reached record-lows. We decided to implement a new approach. We spoke individually with each member to determine what they were looking for with the organization. We then worked hard to deliver everything they wanted. We took a similar approach to recruitment. We asked our newest members what attracted them and what didn't. We implemented the changes listed, and within one year, our retention rates increased to 77% and our recruitment levels quadrupled. While there are many differences between the organizations, an important lesson should be learned. Humans are similar regardless of whether we are talking about an online forum or real life. People want and expect different things and depending on how close reality is to his or her expectations will determine his or her satisfaction. We need to have this mindset when dealing with the VC. If you trust Skinner and I, we will take my experience and these values and apply them to retaining members and growing the Congress for the future!

Question 2: With VC being reset, we know longer have any official cabinet positions. What positions would you support creating if you are elected the first President of this new virtual congress? Secretary of Recruitment: Will be responsible for recruiting new members to this congress. Secretary of Communications: Will be responsible for communicating with the congress upon the presidents request. I also hope to bring back the positions of Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense etc. I just need to figure out what their roles will be. Furthermore, I hope to add deputy positions to the department of Recruitment once VC grows. At the same time. I don’t want to go over bored with the number of cabinet positions.

Question 2: With VC being reset, we know longer have any official cabinet positions. What positions would you support creating if you are elected the first President of this new virtual congress? The cabinet should reflect the Congress. When we first created the VC, we had close to 200 members, so it made sense to have a realistic cabinet. With 20-25 members, the cabinet should reflect the essential advisory roles that the President needs based on his or her agenda. As president of the VC, my cabinet would include the positions of Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Treasury, Secretary of the Interior, and Attorney General.
